When you feel an emotional attraction to another, and it's a mutual feeling of connection then we're experiencing the union that is described by the two of cups. Feeling flows so mutually as to create union: two become one in harmony, however briefly. Sharing and caring, spending joyful time with another person communicating and understanding, all fall under the umbrella of this card. It's a lot like the Lovers, except here the emphasis is not so much on choice and decision as simply feeling a peaceful accord with another.

When your heart feels pierced by loneliness, hurt, betrayal, or generally suffers a case of the blues, as when we're "under the weather" then we're experiencing the energy of this card. The good news is that this too shall pass...

I found out about 90% uploaded that someone else had beat me to it, but oh well.. I seem to have some that aren't uploaded, so I'll get to it. Snoresome, but worth it. Enjoy:

Wow, that name had me flicking across my tabs to get it right, lol. I found an online tool called Mediaconvert that converts your files for free and so I managed to convert and upload the entire movie I was talking about yesterday to Youtube. Check it out! And let me know if you like it, because I have a handful of these and I'll upload them if you want to see.

Enjoy:

I cycled to town and stocked up on some green tea today, and while I was there I saw an RSPB fundraiser who gave me a number of a national helpline I thought might be able to put me in touch with someone local to make sure the bat was okay, if it hadn't gone off to feed tonight. But when I got home I tried calling and twice the line was dead. It was almost five o clock but I thought it would be better to call the Bat Conservation Trust today and let them know there was an animal that might be of concern, so that tomorrow if it hadn't moved, they would already be on board and ready to come and help. People who run these lines are always nice and helpful, and Felicity told me to keep an eye on the bat (though not to stay up all night and check on it every hour as I had been.. heheh) and call her back in the morning if it seemed not to have flown off at least to feed once more. But then she called me back a minute later and told me it would actually be better to confine the bat, try to give it water on some kitchen roll, and maybe some cat or dog food, and call a number she gave me where someone local would come and try to get it to fly off, and take it away to care for it if it wouldn't do that. The location it had chosen to roost in really wasn't ideal, because the sunlight made it bright, there were fluorescent lights, people walking in and out with rubbish (it hadn't flown away when the rubbish had been collected, which must have been really noisy), kids, and around here... Siamese cats!

So.... )

I am the song that sings the bird.
I am the leaf that grows the land.
I am the tide that moves the moon.
I am the stream that halts the sand.
I am the cloud that drives the storm.
I am the earth that lights the sun.
I am the fire that strikes the stone.
I am the clay that shapes the hand.
I am the word that speaks the man.

(Well, I'm on a roll tonight, thanks to your kind encouragement - You know who you are!)

Here is another Major Arcanum. Oh look it's me: Hai!

Flying Crooked

The butterfly, a cabbage-white,
(His honest idiocy of flight)
Will never now, it is too late,
Master the art of flying straight,
Yet has -- who knows so well as I? --
A just sense of how not to fly:
He lurches here and there by guess
And God and hope and hopelessness.
Even the aerobatic swift
Has not his flying-crooked gift.

I have spent a few hours laboriously typing the chapter on getting acquainted with the tarot cards from Mary K. Greer's book Tarot for Yourself (yuck, I felt like a scribe! I'm glad that's over..) because of the high level of interest in it. I think she explains the method and rationale a lot more succinctly than I can, so the following information is all verbatim from the book. This is not my writing - I just copied it here for you and bolded the sections so you aren't assaulted by too much text. This is a very long post, so maybe you want to add it to your journal memories and come back later if you don't have time for it now. X-posted to my journal and the tarot community. My voice is in this colour. Everything else is quoted from the book.

Here is how you create your tarot profile )

... if you like this sort of thing, buy the book. There's a lot more!

I have a book by Mary K. Greer which describes how tarot practitioners have devised a method of adding the day, month and year of your birth together and reducing the numbers to correspond to cards in the major arcana. I would really love to know what your cards are! Everyone has a Personality Card and Soul Card.

This is the method for figuring it out:

Add together the digits of your birth date, to get the lowest number you can. For me, born the first of march 1980, I add: 1 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 8 = 22 -- which is the number of the fool, and combines to give the number four which is the number of the emporer. What is your number? Tell me and I'll give you your tarot correspondence! It's as valid as astrology, if you think about it. And it probably works in the same way by giving you a focus on something self-defining. Be prepared for a self-fulfilling prophecy! lol. Seriously though, please let me know your numbers!

I've also uploaded 26 pages of graphic novel scrumminess by Alan Moore which explains all. Behold and enjoy - PROMETHEA - a graphic novel story of the tarot majors:
